We are reading that
the latest statistics are a much higher percentage of poor readers, anywhere
up to 30% or more. Does this mean that more and more individuals are Dyslexic
or that the methods used to track poor reading in the schools are inadequate?
There is a difference
between Dyslexic individuals and poor readers - readers who are not achieving
literacy due to inadequate teaching or lack of exposure to teaching in
the schools.
