“Our family is in a unique position, having used all the services of the dEcode™ Learning Centre, including psychoeducational assessments, school placement recommendations, dEcode programming, and ongoing tutoring.

Our children have had their individual needs, with regard to their unique educational (and emotional) requirements, met by several of the Centre staff, where appropriate.

When necessary, Centre staff attended one of my son’s school to provide tutoring during a spare period.

Not only Dr. Cooper, but several of her staff tutors, have helped and continue to help our children achieve success through their particular skill specialties. All staff are sensitive and caring, patient and knowledgeable in their areas of expertise. Most are qualified in several subject areas and this has been particularly useful when one of our kids may have needed help at a particular time when their regular tutor was engaged with another student.

For example, during examinations, our son in grade seven would come to the office for help with studying. I was impressed that, even if his regular tutor was engaged elsewhere, there was always one of the tutors available and their broad range of talents could be counted on to get my son through his material.

Our children have both obtained honour-roll status since they began their relationship with the Centre. While that was not necessarily our goal, it has shown us that this is the setting which has enable them to realize their potential and learn the skills they need to learn successfully and continue feeling good about their achievements.”

One of our high school students was assigned a project to write an article about somebody important to him. He chose to write about Dr. Cooper. This is what he wrote:

Dr. Cooper is a Child and Educational Psychologist with a Ph.D. in psychology. She created the dEcode™ Learning Centre to help children and adults alike who have learning difficulties. Here, she also has her psychology practice and aids students with skills such as organization. “Dr. Deb” as she is affectionately known to her students, has been a member of the developmental educational field since university, and in addition has maintained a private practice for over 25 years. Dr. Cooper began as a research assistant while in university. Between 1985 1989, she was a psychological consultant for the neo-natal pediatric unit at Mt. Sinai hospital. Here she developed many diagnostic techniques to determine whether children were at risk for language delay. She continued with her private practice, and opened her clinic in 1995.

Through all of these ventures, Dr. Deb found that many traditional methods of aiding people with learning disabilities were ineffective. She also found that other emotional factors contributed to learning difficulties. All of these realizations and research led to the invention of dEcode™ which is a program that helps children with reading, math and other learning difficulties. This amazing innovation incorporates Dr. Cooper's broad range of psychological, child developmental and mental processing knowledge.

dEcode™ is designed not only for children, but for any person with a learning disability. The reason is this program starts by imbedding basic steps of reading and math so there is a foundation to build on. Once these basic concepts are thoroughly understood, the mind is ready to learn more complex concepts.

Many students could just barely sound out words, but would not be able to make sense of what they were reading. Also, individuals struggling with math ceased to progress even though they had been exposed to other programs. Once dEcode™ was introduced, the students made rapid progress.

This is the reason why Dr. Cooper has devoted her professional efforts for over 25 years to creating and refining this program, to suit the needs of all people with visual/spatial, math and reading learning difficulties.

dEcode™ develops confidence through learning how to learn. Dr. Debby Cooper feels the most personal satisfaction after working with students and seeing results. dEcode™ and The dEcode™ Learning Centre are highly effective solutions for success in learning and life.

I have recently been admitted to an Ivy League university. I attribute my academic success to Dr. Cooper's methodology of integrating remediation with counselling.

Some time ago, I was struggling with my remedial work to little avail. Dr. Cooper recognized this and set aside my remedial work for a time. Instead, Dr. Cooper, my family and myself focused the next number of sessions on dealing with my feelings.

This propelled me forward at a much faster rate academically once I came to terms with underlying issues. I came to realize, in fact, that I was capable of producing excellent work, and the ensuing remedial work with Dr. Cooper took far less time.
